What makes WallMates™ self-adhesive, repositionable dry erase writing surfaces so easy to use?WallMates™ self-adhesive dry erase surfaces feature thick 5 mil vinyl and a removable, medium tack pressure sensitive adhesive so they are easy to apply. The thickness of the adhesive surface makes it less likely to crinkle, curl, or fold back on itself during application and helps to better mask small imperfections in the surface to which the product is applied.
What kinds of surfaces can WallMates™ products be applied to?WallMates™ repositionable open writing surfaces and calendars can be applied to virtually any hard, flat surface. The surface should be clean, dry, and structurally sound (i.e. no peeling paint) otherwise poor adhesion or reduced adhesive life may result. A hard surface is recommended since WallMates™ products are flexible and provide a writing surface of similar rigidity to the surface on which they are applied. It is also important that the surface be relatively flat and smooth to allow adequate surface area for adhesion. Heavily textured surfaces including some wall coverings, some painted brick, and similar surfaces have extensive surface voids which may reduce adhesive effectiveness. Typical surfaces best suited for WallMates™ include: painted dry wall (fully cured. Minimum of 1 month), glass, stainless steel, painted metal, and more. WallMates™ products can also be used on most modular wall surfaces. The sheer number and variety of surfaces make it impossible to accurately predict whether WallMates™ will work on every surface, but we have seen excellent results on the wide variety of surfaces typically found in office environments. In all cases, it is important to follow the application instructions to ensure best results.
How many times can WallMates™ planning surfaces be applied and reapplied?WallMates™ can be applied and reapplied multiple times. The average number of times will vary depending on the cleanliness of the surface to which the adhesive dry erase surface is applied but typically ten times or more is a good rule of thumb. Please note that applications to fabric and similar surfaces will reduce the overall reusability of the adhesive since lint and other debris will become permanently fused to the adhesive layer.
How long do WallMates™ planning surfaces last? The ultimate life of WallMates™ will vary depending on use, cleaning, and care but typically users can expect 1-2 years of use in most cases. The adhesive featured on WallMates™ has been developed to be removable, without residue after years of use. We are confident that the product performance represents an exceptional consumer value in peel and stick wall calendars and writing surfaces
What kinds of markers can be used on WallMates™ products?WallMates™ are designed to work with any dry erase marker. Note that there is some variation in formulation of dry erase markers from different manufacturers and, as a result, some markers will perform better than others. The use of Wet Erase or Permanent markers on WallMates™ products is not recommended since these markers will permanently stain the surface of WallMates™.
What is the best way to clean WallMates™ products?WallMates™ are easy to write on and easy to erase. We recommend using a soft cloth or paper towel to erase your peel and stick dry erase writing surface. Using a fresh cloth or paper towel helps minimize the amount of ink dust on the surface. If ghosting occurs due to the specific marker used or the length of time it is left on the surface, it can be cleaned easily with a dampened cloth or paper towel. The use of special cleaners on WallMates™ adhesive whiteboards is not recommended. We also recommend that, in order to keep surrounding wall surfaces clean, you erase from the outside edges in toward the center of the WallMates™ product and avoid going beyond the edge.
